The chosen place this time was the campus of the Ciutadella de la Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The<\/span><b> Observatory of Pain<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has actively participated in this event with the slogan \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Science for action<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d and conferences about <\/span><b>three topics<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The first topic we addressed was the treatment of pain and the use of Clinical Practice Guides (CPG) in the talk entitled <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe impact of the use of Clinical Practice Guides on the care of patients with chronic pain<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d. It was presented by Alejandro Salazar with the objective of evaluating the impact of adherence to CPG of different medical professionals involved in the management of chronic pain.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Likewise, our team spoke about the economic crisis, a topic with special social relevance, with the talk <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cImpact of the economic crisis on the pharmacological treatment of pain<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d. It was defended by Helena de Sola in a crowded and relaxed session and its goal was to identify the effect of the Spanish economic crisis on the expense, prescription and consumption of analgesic medicines to treat chronic pain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finally, the study entitled \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spanish general population\u2019s vision about the use of opiates on the treatment of pain. The identification of subgroups through the cluster analysis<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d, was also presented by the Observatory with the aim of knowing the beliefs, opinions, fears, and attitudes of the Spanish population about the use of opiates to treat pain and the identification of those subgroups.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The members of the Observatory of Pain returned from the event with <\/span><b>new research methods<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and with <\/span><b>updated knowledge <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">about several topics of the Public Health field, facts that join the pleasure of having enjoyed the welcoming and cosmopolitan city of Barcelona.
