Face-to-face scientific events are back with the celebration of the <\/span>XXXIX Annual Meeting of the Spanish Epidemiology Society <\/b>(SEE), the XVI Congresso da Associa\u00e7ao Portuguesa (APE) and the XIX Congress of the Spanish Society of Public Health and Health Administration (SESPAS) in Le\u00f3n, the city that has been chosen for this new edition that took place on September 7, 8, 9 and 10 and which has had the participation of the <\/span>Observatory of Pain.<\/b><\/p>\n

With the <\/span>slogan ‘Evidence for pandemics’<\/b>, the congress has brought together thousands of experts in the field of health who have attended the meeting to expand their knowledge and to talk about their work in the different round tables, and communications. <\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

On Wednesday 8, our team presented <\/span>three communications<\/b>: two in poster format and one oral communication. In the first place, the turn was for our workmate <\/span>Alejandro Salazar<\/b> who spoke about the importance of identifying and characterizing the sensory phenotypes of type-2 diabetic patients with neuropathic pain and knowing the factors associated with these subgroups in the framework of the communications about ‘ Metabolic diseases’. Within the same topic, <\/span>Jenifer Palomo<\/b> presented another poster in which she showed her work about the cognitive function in diabetic patients with peripheral neuropathy.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the afternoon, addressing the topic of Covid-19, the focus of the congress, our workmate returned to the center of the room to present another of the studies carried out by the Observatory which analyze the psychological impact of confinement due to the Covid-19 pandemic in the staff of the University of C\u00e1diz. <\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

On Thursday 9, after a morning of poster presentations and oral communications, the round table \u2018Evaluation of the management of the Covid-19 pandemic. What was expected and what happened\u2019 with the participation of <\/span>B\u00e1rbara Olivan, Helena Legido, Henrique Barros, Fernando Sim\u00f3n<\/b> and <\/span>Pere Godoy<\/b> as moderator should be highlighted.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During Friday morning, <\/span>Alejandro Salazar<\/b> presented two oral communications about <\/span>Physical Activity<\/b>, closing the Observatory’s participation in the congress. Firstly, Alejandro talked about the factors associated with physical activity in the Spanish adult population and, finally, he was in charge of showing the work of the Observatory about diagnosed chronic low back pain and its relationship with physical activity. <\/span>After the communications, the journalist Milagros P\u00e9rez Oliva chaired the closing ceremony in which the city for the next edition was announced: <\/span>San Sebasti\u00e1n.<\/b><\/p>\n

Following all the measures of the Covid protocol, the event was celebrated without any setback. All attendees could enjoy these <\/span>enriching days<\/b> as well as a city as beautiful as Le\u00f3n.
