On March 13, 2024, Juan Antonio P\u00e9culo Carrasco successfully defended his doctoral thesis titled “Factors related to the perception of safety in assistance and transfers of mobile emergency teams in urgent or emergent care demands,” earning a Cum Laude distinction. Dr. Inmaculada Failde Mart\u00ednez, director of the Pain Observatory, led this research.<\/span><\/p>\n

The defense took place in a hybrid format at the Faculty of Nursing and Physiotherapy of the University of C\u00e1diz, with a panel comprising distinguished academics in the field of medicine and public health.<\/span><\/p>\n

The thesis explores how patients perceive safety in out-of-hospital emergency situations, through four articles using various research methods. These include a qualitative study with focus groups, a mixed-methods systematic review, and a cross-sectional, multicentric observational study funded by the Strategic Health Action program 2019 of the Carlos III Health Institute.<\/span><\/p>\n

The work proposes a structured model in four essential dimensions to understand the perception of safety in out-of-hospital emergencies.
